We’re excited for a busy December full of learning and fun at BCMS!

The Banks County School System has named Mrs. Angie Austin as the 2024-2025 System Teacher of the Year. The system will recognize each school winner on November 21, 2024 at the Banks County Board of Education.

Banks County Middle School has been named a Math Leader School by the Georgia Department of Education, recognizing its commitment to developing essential math skills. This award, following a recent Literacy Award, highlights the dedication of the school’s staff and students.

Banks County Middle School’s 7th grade Language Arts students recently took on the role of detectives in Courtney Brooks’ class, tackling a “Whodunit” murder mystery. The activity, designed to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, encouraged students to use context clues, make inferences, and work together to solve the case.

Mrs. Angie Austin has been named Banks County Middle School Teacher of the Year and Banks County School System Teacher of the Year. Mr. Ricky Williamson has been named Classified Employee of the Year.

Banks County 4-H Cloverleaf students showcased their hard work at the Project Achievement Competition at Rock Eagle, presenting polished, well-researched topics after months of preparation. Their dedication led to impressive results, with numerous students earning top placements in their categories.

Banks County Middle School has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a Literacy Leader for notable growth in sixth-grade reading levels, aligning with the system's motto, Expectations Influence Success.

Banks County Middle School will host Veterans Day on Nov 11. All veterans are invited to attend lunch at noon. The program will begin at 1:00 pm.
