The Banks County School System Spelling Bee was held at the Banks County Board of Education on January 31, 2025. Students from various grade levels demonstrated their impressive spelling skills.
After several intense rounds of competition, Jaydee Paramo emerged as the system winner, with Jackson Chapman claiming the Runner-Up spot.
The competition featured standout performances from several other students, including participants Declan Evans, Sawyer Minish, Ace Xiong, Logan Couch, Julissa Castaneda De La Cruz, Eden Bless, and Jackson Pearce.
Jaydee Paramo, a 5th grader at Banks County Elementary School, is known for his passion for reading and exploring a wide range of books. His favorite foods include spaghetti, Texas Roadhouse rolls, and noodle soup. He shares a special bond with his cat, Pama, whom he loves to spoil. Jaydee’s favorite book and movie is The Wild Robot, and his dream is to become a cephalopodologist—a specialist in marine life, mainly squid and octopuses.
Jackson Chapman, a 7th grader at Banks County Middle School, enjoys reading, playing video games, and hunting. Math is currently his favorite subject.
Paramo and Chapman will advance to the Region Three Competition, with Paramo representing Banks County. If Paramo is unable to attend, Chapman will compete as the runner-up.
