Principal Chuck Butler

Mr. Chuck Butler is entering his 25th year in education and brings a wealth of experience in teaching, coaching, and school leadership to his role as Principal of Banks County Middle School.Prior to becoming principal, Mr. Butler served for seven years as Assistant Principal at Banks County Middle School. His educational career began in the classroom, where he spent 17 years as a physical education teacher, including 5 years at the middle school level, 6 years at the elementary level, and 6 years at the high school level. In addition to his work as an educator, he served as a Head Boys Basketball Coach for seven years, helping student-athletes develop skills, discipline, teamwork, and character.

Mr. Butler's educational background reflects his commitment to lifelong learning and educational leadership. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from the University of Georgia, a Master of Arts in Health Studies from the University of Alabama, and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.

As Principal of Banks County Middle School, Mr. Butler is dedicated to building upon the school's strong tradition of excellence. He believes in creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students are challenged to achieve their highest potential, encouraged to work hard, and inspired to develop the habits and character necessary for future success. His leadership philosophy centers on fostering a culture where students can learn, grow, have fun, and develop disciplines that will prepare them for success both inside and outside the classroom.

Mr. Butler and his wife, Tanya, are proud parents of two children, Carlie and Cash. They are grateful to be part of the Banks County community. He looks forward to partnering with students, staff, families, and community members as Banks County Middle School continues its tradition of excellence.
 

Assistant Principal Andrew Hardy

Born and raised in Illinois, Mr. Andrew Hardy is entering his ninth year in education. He spent the first three years of his career teaching seventh-grade social studies in Indiana. For the past five years, he has taught seventh-grade social studies at Banks County Middle School. He has also served as the middle school assistant volleyball coach for two years, JV Head Coach for three years, and golf coach for two years.

Mr. Hardy earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education from Indiana State University and a Master of Education and Instruction from Augusta University. He is scheduled to receive his Specialist in Education and Instruction from Augusta University in December.

Mr. Hardy believes every student is capable of more than they realize. He is committed to creating an encouraging and challenging environment where high expectations and genuine support go hand in hand.

Mr. Hardy is married to his wife, Carmen, who is also an educator, and they have a dog named Murphy. The Banks County community has been welcoming to their family, and they are proud to be part of it. Mr. Hardy looks forward to bringing fresh ideas and a high standard of excellence to Banks County Middle School. He is committed to building relationships with students and families that help every student thrive.
